Support

During the tour you will always have a ride guide with the group.

There will also be a team minivan and support crew not far away who will meet us in pre arranged locations. Your guide and support crew helps out with any food and drink requirements, as well as having local knowledge, first aid kitand even shoulder to cry on if your having a bad day. Our aim is to support you as much as possible and provide positive encouragement on the journey. If it all gets too much however you do have the opportunity to jump in the minivan.

Mechanical Assistance – we have a comprehensive tool kit with us at all time and can fix most problems.

We also carry the most commonly needed spare parts (inner tubes, tyres, cables, wheels etc

We do ask that riders carry their own mini tool kit, spare tube, pump and patches to fix any problems should the guide not be close by for whatever reason.

We know where the local bike shops are as well, so if a more serious mechanical problem arises we will endeavour, but can’t promise, to try to get it fixed for you or sort out an alternative if the problem cannot be fixed in time.

Food

We provide gels, electrolytes and various snacks and drinks to keep you going throughout the day at the pre arranged rest stops. Breakfasts are taken at the various accommodation providers and evening meals are typically either at the overnight accommodation or local restaurants.

What does twin share mean?

Twin share means you will be paired with another tour participant of the same sex for rooming purposes. You will never be paired with the opposite sex.

I am traveling alone must I pay a single supplement?

No you will be paired with another member of the same sex for rooming purposes. If there is no-one of the same sex then you will room alone and NOT pay a single supplement.

Payments

We ask all customers to pay a deposit when they book, which confirms their reservation. The balance is due 60 days before departure – we’ll get in touch to remind you when it’s time. If you book less than 60 days before departure, we will ask you to pay the full price upfront.

Are the trips guaranteed to run?

We need a minimum of 4 riders to make the tours financially viable. If we do need to cancel a tour we will offer a $100 refund in addition to any deposit you have already made. We will give a minimum of 20 days notice if we do need to cancel.

We cannot however be liable for any flights or travel arrangements made as a result of the booking.

Typical Day

Each day starts with a communal breakfast followed by a briefing of the day’s ride.

We discuss where the support / feed stations are going to be throughout the day and any particular points of interest /hazards. We typically all ride for the first hour at least together as a team and find it provides great camaraderie and support for all.

We typically have 2 feed/support stations on each leg where riders can re-fuel and change gear if needed. Note - On some off road routes this is not always possible.

After the ride, there may be a short bus ride to the accommodation, stretching advice from support staff for those that want it, before an evening dining in the hotel restaurant, chatting over a drink in the bar or just chilling out.

Female and traveling alone?

All good ! You will only ever be paired with another female for twin share and if that is not possible you will room alone and NOT pay a single supplement.

For 2018 we are running a women only tour. See (link) for more details.

What about non cycling Partners ?

We are focused on providing support to riders during each tour and unfortunately do not have the time to cater for partners.

Of course, if you want to bring along your partner at your own cost this is fine with us and we can provide a detailed itinerary as soon as possible for you to arrange your partners travel arrangements.

Bike Hire

Sorry we do not provide this service. If this is something you require please contact us and we will do our best to assist.
